I noticed an interesting thing on the back of the Bugles I bought today: "Serving size about 1 1/3 cup. Servings per container: about 3"
Fair enough. But then, further down:
Total Fat 9g (14% RDA)
Okay--no big deal. That seems fair for something like this. But then--
Saturated Fat 8g (40% RDA)
So, let's break this down:
There are about 36 in a cup, so that's 48 bugles in a serving. That means that 6 bugles will give you one gram of saturated fat, and one bugle will give you 1.2% of your RDA. And 120 of the things--just shy of a whole bag--and you're done for the day.
No wonder I have high cholesterol. Bill thinks I'm probably still recovering from when I would eat this stuff as a kid.
(It's so bad, it's probably even affected my impeccable math skills.)
